2025 AGM Highlights

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to our incredible board for their dedication and hard work, and to the horse shows that continue to support our riders across the province — including British Columbia Hunter Jumper Association partners at Thunderbird Show Park, Milner Downs, Maple Ridge Equestrian Center, Southlands Riding Club, and shows throughout Kelowna.

2025 Highlights

Thousands of dollars in travel funding supported BCHJA riders competing at the Royal and national finals.

$5,000 awarded in bursaries with a record number of applicants — and this program will continue into 2026!

419 members province-wide — thank you for being part of our community and for continuing to support BCHJA programs, funding, clinics, and events.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Plans are underway for our 2026 BCHJA Symposium, with exciting rider and trainer announcements coming soon.

A revamped year-end awards and points program is launching:

One unified series (no more bronze/gold split)

Inclusion of Horse Council BC–sanctioned shows

New divisions added, including 2’0 Hunter and .60, .70, .75 Jumper awards

Simplified multipliers:

Gold: 2.0

Silver/Bronze: 1.5

HCBC: 1.0

We’re confident these updates will better support and recognize our members at all levels.

At this we also want to extend a huge thank you to Natalie Hewson and Ashleigh Taylor for all of their work and dedication over the years as they have made the decision to step down from the board.

In addition, we would like to welcome two new additions to our board, Natalie Adler & Danalynn Rooks! We are thrilled to have them join us and believe their experience and expertise will have a benefit to the board and sport in our province.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared feedback, and continues to support BCHJA. Here’s to an exciting and inclusive 2026!
